Mission & History
The Iwakuni Leadership Seminar is rooted in a long-standing tradition of developing great leaders. Our mission may not be new, but it’s one that we take very seriously. We carry the legacy of those seminar leaders who have gone before us in creating a space where leaders can grow.
Mission
Our mission is to provide leadership and educational training to spouses of active, reserve and retired military with the end goal of enriching and cultivating the military community in the roles, rights and responsibilities of leadership which will transfer to other bases and job opportunities.
History
Iwakuni Leadership Seminar is modeled after the Leadership Education Seminar (LES) at Camp Pendleton, which began more than 30 years ago.
Today the program has expanded to Camp Lejeune (CLLS), Okinawa (OLS) and here at MCAGCC in Twentynine Palms, CA.
Iwakuni Leadership Seminar (ILS) was established in 2024 with its first seminar being a held in Spring of 2024.
